Other good news...

The dairy farm that we receive home delivery from (nearly raw milk, butter, eggs, ice cream, cottage cheese, kefir, the all-important half & half...) has asked on their monthly newsletter if we consumers would be interested in buying more local items through them. Wow, like what?!
Free-range chicken meat, breakfast sausages, bread and more! All from local farmers and artisans!
When I placed my order today I kept the lady on the phone for an extra 5 minutes explaining how I drive to farmer's markets in a 45 minute radius to get good meats and breads.
How exciting! I hope they can do this.
When we start eating local *all the way* this summer, I think it just might be too easy!

Spiral Herb Garden

I'm really excited about planting a spiral herb garden in the front yard this spring. As I've said before, the front is the only space where we get full sun most of the day.
This site has more info on it. Gaia's Garden led me to this idea. Love it.
I will probably plant more lavendar, calendula, yarrow, comfrey, different sages, etc.

Woo hoo! Only 3 months or so until we can work the soil!
